Grades in the color of diamonds range from D-Z, D being truly colorless and of the highest quality.
E and F are also graded as colorless while G, H, I and J are near colorless.
Most of the diamonds between colors D to J appear colorless in the face-up position where a D color is a completely transparent crystal, F is a white diamond and J has a warm tone to the brilliance that betrays just the most subtle hint of a beige-ish color.
Diamond color is determined by comparing diamonds in the face down position on a perfectly white background and of course with the lab diamond grading certificate. |
