Question 1

What is the difference between a lab-grown Cushion Brilliant and Cushion Modified?

Accepted Answer

The difference is in the facet pattern, not the origin. A Cushion Brilliant has broader facets that produce bold, defined flashes of light, similar to a Round. A Cushion Modified Brilliant has additional pavilion facets that create a crushed-ice or needle-like sparkle pattern with smaller, more numerous flashes. This distinction is the same in both lab-grown and natural diamonds. At Icestore, we display the exact facet style so you can choose the sparkle pattern you prefer.

Question 2

How much does a lab-grown Cushion diamond cost compared to natural?

Accepted Answer

Lab-grown Cushion diamonds typically cost 80 to 95 percent less than comparable natural Cushions. A 2-carat lab-grown Cushion with G color and VS2 clarity might range from $1,200 to $2,500 — compared to $8,000 to $15,000 for the same specifications in a natural diamond. This significant savings allows you to prioritize a larger carat weight, higher color, or better clarity within your budget.
