Question 1

Why is clarity especially important for lab-grown Emerald cuts?

Accepted Answer

The Emerald cut has a large, open table with step-cut facets that act like windows into the diamond, making inclusions more visible than in brilliant cuts. This is true regardless of whether the diamond is lab-grown or natural — it is a property of the cut geometry. We recommend VS2 clarity or higher for Emerald cuts. The good news is that lab-grown pricing makes VS1 and VVS grades financially accessible, so you can achieve a flawless, liquid-like appearance at a fraction of the natural price.

Question 2

Are lab-grown Emerald cut diamonds certified the same way as natural?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lab-grown Emerald cut diamonds at Icestore are independently graded by IGI or GIA using the same 4Cs criteria — carat, color, clarity, and cut — as natural diamonds. The grading report will clearly state "Laboratory Grown" as the origin. You receive the same level of quality verification and transparency as a natural diamond purchase.
