Question 1

What carat weight is recommended for a lab-grown Heart diamond?

Accepted Answer

Heart shape diamonds are most visually effective at 1 carat and above, where the distinctive shape — the cleft, lobes, and point — is clearly defined. Below 0.50 carats, the heart silhouette can be difficult to discern. The advantage of lab-grown is that a 1.5- to 2-carat Heart with excellent symmetry becomes attainable at a price that would barely cover a 0.75-carat natural Heart. At Icestore, every lab-grown Heart includes 360-degree video so you can evaluate lobe symmetry and cleft definition.

Question 2

What should I look for in a lab-grown Heart diamond?

Accepted Answer

Symmetry is the most critical factor — the two lobes should be equal in size and shape, the cleft should be clearly defined, and the point should align with the center of the cleft. The ideal length-to-width ratio is 0.90 to 1.10. These quality criteria are identical for lab-grown and natural Hearts. Because lab-grown diamonds cost 80 to 95 percent less, you can be more selective about symmetry and cut quality without exceeding your budget.
